– Cafe Culture at Maryland Healthcare –

Here at Maryland, we strive to make the environment as comfortable as possible, not only for the residents, but their families too.

Cafe culture in Northern Ireland has significantly risen in recent years. Whether it’s individuals, couples or groups, one of our favourite things to do as a society is to visit a cafe, enjoy a lovely cuppa (and possibly something to go with it) and soak up the atmosphere or catch up with friends.

Here at Maryland, we have aimed to offer both residents and their guests a taste of this culture. Our state-of-the-art facility offers not one but two cafe areas, one dedicated to visitors and relatives visiting our Willow and Juniper Unit, and the other for visitors and relatives of our Dementia Units – Rowan and Larch.

There is complimentary tea / coffee and biscuits, and the occasional tray bake or bun. The cafes provide an area for the resident to take their friends and family to enjoy the surroundings and relax without leaving the comfort of  Maryland.

The cafés help the experience of visiting a loved one within a nursing care environment, and we encourage both visitors and residents alike to make full use of these facilities.
